"I've been to the cave many times, most of them with my dad, who was born and raised at War Eagle. We spent a week at War Eagle each summer for many years and usually went to the cave each summer. I've also been a couple times since it's been open to the public. Quite a different view than we had enjoyed years ago using only flashlights for illumination. When my grandson gets a little older I will bring him so he can see the beautiful cavern also."

 War Eagle River Valley

The War Eagle area is home to rolling hills, limestone bluffs, hardwood forests, and rich valley meadows. The area is near Hobbs State Park, the largest state park in Arkansas, which encompasses nearly 14 thousand acres south of Beaver Lake. The Cavern is less than five miles from the historic War Eagle Mill, and it is located right off Highway 12, conveniently half-way between Rogers and Eureka Springs, a quaint Victorian town famous for its mineral springs and the Passion Play, among many other delightful tourist destinations.
The name of War Eagle dates back to surveyor maps used for the Louisiana Purchase, and there is also a legend of the lovesick native American brave who sought his bride-to-be in the local hills against overwhelming odds.
